Well before Sebastien Loeb's Puma Rally1, the Ford Puma name was already being heard on the Monte Carlo stages! At the end of the 1990s, Ford offered an astonishing little coupe in Super1600 version (the 2nd Rally Division). While its looks were very appealing, the model struggled to get ahead in the face of varied and tough competition. At the 2002 Monte-Carlo Rally, a young Belgian driver named François Duval made a remarkable impression, not only finishing 17th overall, but also winning the Junior class! For the record, his co-driver at the time, Jean-Marc Fortin, now heads the Toyota Overdrive team on the Dakar and in Rallye-Raid!
